Dial M for Pizza

Dial M for Pizza (1987-1988, United Kingdom)
BBC radio sitcom BBC radio show radio sketch show British comedy showThe show was written by James Hendrie and Ian Brown, who had their input in (among other things) Spitting Image, The Lenny Henry Show and Carrott’s Lib TV shows. They used that experience to make Dial M for Pizza stand out among the sketch shows of the era, which was not easy taking under consideration that shows like Radio Active or Star Terk II were building their popularity.
But, through the use of short form (quite a lot of sketches were no longer than 30 seconds), changing the formula for some episodes (like story archs linking some of the sketches) and absurdist humour gave Dial M for Pizza its own identity. The sketches like "The Perriers, the everyday story of smug bastards", Batman returning from his retirement for the last time or pantomime created in cooperation with Law Society, made the humour unique enough to be recognizable among other sketch shows.
Two seasons were produced, 6 episodes each, among guest stars were Janine Duvitski and Jim Broadbent.
